A sigh of relief!

Thank goodness that event is over! After a lot of hard work rallying around to get people to the event, the race night was a success. But; it could have been a lot better. We'd hired a huge hall for 100+ people but only got 43 people there. As you can imagine, we didn't fill the room too well. However, the 43 that came had a great night & we all made plenty of noise & some even made money!!!
We had the local radio , James Wilson 'comparing' which added to the entertainment. Couldn't have done it w/o him.
Also, the other hero was the man running the tote (Steve) along with 4 of his friends. They did a tremendous job. Altogether the tote made £327, which included the sale of the horses in the auction race, which were auctioned off on the night, by James. I was flabbergasted by the money made on the horses, though it only takes 2 people to bid against eachother, to get things moving.
Altogether, £700 was made from the event, which i think was very good considering the low turnout.
Now on to the next event....!

Race Night looms

Like our 1st event, the wine & cheese tasting, i am equally nervous about its success.
I have managed to sell all the horses but struggling to get more people there without a horse!
We've even resorted to putting flyers on to cars, at the last minute.
